Beyond the Surface
My current body of work considers the idea that when we go below the surface layer of ourselves through meditation, we can connect to a more expansive state. With so much information at our fingertips, and the ability to connect with a multitude of people, you could perhaps say that this places us in an expanded state of awareness. At the same time, this can also cause contraction or tension. Normally, we react on a surface and superficial level, where we must also navigate our perceptions and the well-etched patterns of our minds. Having an abstract view seeing beyond the the perceived shapes and forms, I can sense an energy that leads me to the present moment. Once I am anchored in the moment I have a greater awareness of my inner spaciousness.
