Interdependence is a fundamental law of nature. Even tiny insects survive by mutual cooperation based on innate recognition of their interconnectedness. It is because our own human existence is so dependent on the help of others that our need for love lies at the very foundation of our existence. Therefore we need a genuine sense of responsibility and a sincere concern for the welfare of others. -Dalai Lama
Inter - Depend - Dance
We are all interdependent on each other, every action we take has a reaction. If we are not mindful of what we do to the environment it can have consequences. The honeybee is facing such consequences with the onset of the mysterious colony collapse disorder. Many bees have died, and we have learned how important this small being is to our food supply.
I use beeswax in some of my artwork. I have always been fond on bees. I find them to be so very cleaver. Bees use dancing motions to transmit vectors to direct worker bees to nectar.
Life is sort of a dance on the planet. We hope everyone shows up to the dance, and participates to the best of their ability—not stepping on too many toes. Hopefully, our actions of being mindful about our environment will make us better dancers.
My hope is to inspire people to learn more about how they can help the bee. I also want to share my love for dance. I have been a dance student for the last 15 years. It is fun activity, a great exercise for both your body and mind.
Additionally, I will teach a workshop called Creative Revival in which we will use mindfulness techniques to help loosen up our creativity. Dancer Betsy Ward Hutchinson will make a guest appearance at the workshop to lead our group in a few dance exercises to really get us moving! We will then paint in an intuitive freestyle.
We are all creative, but sometimes our true creative nature gets a bit stuck or covered up with self limiting beliefs. I am thrilled to have so many resources gathered together willing to help us be better at showing up on our planet. I hope you will enjoy my art and all of the programing.

Inter- Depend - Dance is not just an art exhibit. It's an event that will inspire and educate the community. Jayne uses her artwork to bring awareness to the idea that we are all connected. Every action we take has an impact on something. Her exhibit will feature lectures and opportunities for charitable giving to Apiopolis, an urban bee sanctuary and Bee Better a non-profit organization that helps homeowners build better backyards for bees. The art exhibit will feature oil/cold wax paintings and photo encaustic works.
